Object Of Game

The object of the game is to score more points than the other team.

How To Play

First go to the options menu and pick your options. Next select PLAY from the MENU. This will bring up the play screen. The top of the screen has the score for each team: Home and Visitors. Also at the top is the time left in the quarter. The middle of the screen is the playing field. You will see one offensive player (yellow) and five defensive players (red). The field shows only ten yards of the 100 yard field. The bottom of the screen has the field information (on the left), the action buttons (middle) and the message area (on the right).

Buttons

There are six buttons: 'S' - Starts each play, 'K' - either punts or attempts to kick a field goal, 'B' - moves the offensive player backwards, 'F' - moves the offensive player forward, 'L' - moves the offensive player to his left, and 'R' - moves the offensive player to his right.

Rules

You start on the home team's twenty yard line. You have four downs to go at least ten yards to make a first down. If you don't make ten yards, you turn the ball over to the other team.

Kicking

You can kick on any down. If you're within 40 yards of the other team's goal line, you will be attempting a field goal. You have a 20% chance of making a field goal from 30-40 yards. You have a 40% chance of making a field goal from 20-30 yards. You have a 60% chance of making a field goal from 10-20 yards. You have a 80% chance of making a field goal from 10 yards or less. If you're more than 40 yards away, then you're punting the ball over to the other team. Your punt will be between 10 to 40 yards, with the average of 20-25 yards.

Scoring

You can either score a touchdown (seven points) or kick a field goal (three points).

Quarters

You play four quarters. Each quarter can be between one to three minutes (See options). The player with the most points at the end of the fourth quarter wins.

Options

You can set the quarter time to: 1, 2, or 3 minutes. You can also turn the sound On or Off.
